We are seeking documentary material about mills, mines, logging, logging railroads, hotelsand other early industries in New Hampshire's White Mountains.

Of  particular interest would be early photographs and documents such as letters, diaries, ledger books and account books.  Hand drawn maps and surveys would also be of interest.

The towns of interest  include: Lincoln, Woodstock, Thornton, Campton, Franconia, Livermore, Zealand, Warren, Rumney, Landaff, Carroll, Bethlehem, Albany, Bartlett, Jackson, Sandwich, Waterville, Jefferson, and the Crawford Notch which includes places like Hart's Location, Sergeant's and Elkins Grant, etc.

This region also includes a number of towns that no longer exist:  Carrigain, Jericho, Whitcherville, Dundee, Johnson, Gale River, Peeling, Jonestown, Fabyan's, Fairview, and others.  Material from these towns would also be of particular interest.

If you have material of this type, please  contact:
